Do you think animals shelters have a responsibility to tell adopting families why the animal ended up there?

Like, if a dog was in the shelter because it has severe behavioral problems, should they let people know, or should they withhold that information because it might not get adopted otherwise? My shelter gives almost no information about the animals there, and my friends have ended up adopting some real problem animals because of it. So, do animal shelters have a responsibility to tell adopting families why that animal is in a shelter, or is it often in the animal’s best interest not to?

How can I teach my dog to like swimming?

Fredda states:

I have a beagle/retriever mix. She is more on the small side (and has webbed toes, lol), but she hates to swim in the pool. What can I do to teach her to enjoy swimming?
She is rehabbing from leg surgery and swimming is supposed to be much easier training for her.
When we go to the lake she doesn’t mind just walking into the water on her own to chase a duck usually.
And she is a very good swimmer, she just swims as quick to ladder as she can.
She is about 2 and a half years old

How do animals know when bad weather is coming?

What makes up that sixth sense that lets animals know when a storm is approaching? I’m in Florida right now, where we are getting pounded by hard rain and tornadoes, and my normally loving and low-key puppy is nervous and crying and pacing around the house. How do dogs and other animals know? Serious answers only please.
